Topics that will be explored among others concern the preservation of landraces and indigenous varieties in the field, the study and characterization of plant genetic resources, their economic and importance for food security, their role in climate change as well as issues linked to the archaeology and history of these varieties. At the end of each day a round table will be organized to provide the opportunity to growers, entrepreneurs of the primary sector, researchers, representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to come together discuss, share and present their perspective on the value of landraces and indigenous varieties. On the first day the presentations will be in Greek and on the second day the Meeting will be in English. The event will be hybrid and broadcasted on the internet. 

The event is open to the public. Entry is free of charge. A certificate of attendance can be provided to in person participants.
